Free Parking for Veterans

“It would be a way to show appreciation to Veterans on a daily basis” says Mayor Colin Kinsley. 

He’s talking about his push to have free parking allowed for vehicles brandishing the veteran plates.

It was an idea that first surfaced last fall during the “Year of the Veteran”. At the time, the City approved allowing free parking for veterans (free for the duration of the meter maximum) for the balance of the year, which turned out to be about 8 weeks. 

No  argument this time,  all Councilors voted in favour of this move.

Oh I can see this being abused much as the handicap decal is now. But who am I to worry....maybe they will have another study on it.....
How about everyone over 65, they have paid their dues as well.
