Prince George RCMP have arrested a 22 year old man suspected of being involved in a home invasion.
Police say they were making some inquiries in the Kelson Court Apratment block earlier today when they learned of a home invasion. The tenants of one apartment had been held at gunpoint, robbed, and the male living at the residence was hit over the head with an ashtray.
Police were able to arrest a suspect as he tried to escape through a basement window of a neighbouring residence.
Polcie say they'll ask Crown Counsel to consider charges of forcible confinement, robbery with violence, home invasion and assault with a weapon.
In a seperate incident, police say they seized two handguns, one of them loaded, after stopping a 2005 GMC Envoy. Police say the vehicle was pulled over on the Highay 97 Nordic Drive area. Police also seized some ammunition and say a 28 year old man was in possession of the firearms. The investigation continues.
