Fake Fives Making the Rounds

Prince George RCMP say fake $5.00 bills are surfacing in the Prince George area.

Police have received a number of calls from  grocery stores and shopping centre stores to pick up counterfeit $5.00 bills.

Police say there are several ways to watch for the funny money:

-feel the quality of the paper

-look at the size of the bill

- examine the detail in the hologram

-examine the  detail of the print on the bill

Anyone who thinks they may be in possession of a counterfeit bill is asked to take the bill to the Prince George Detachment where  the bill’s authenticity can be verified.
