Someone is using the RCMP name  in a  phone scam to get money.

Prince George RCMP say they know of at least two phonecalls that were received by local residents yesterday.  In each case, the male at the other end of the line said he was  raising money on behalf of the RCMP to fund a children's charity.  When callenged on the matter, the male hung up.

RCMP  are  warning that anyone who gets a call like this should contasct  the prince George Detachment with the details.

I get calls every couple years or so from some man claiming to be raising money for the "policemans association of whatever law and order group". They always make you feel they know who you are and your donation can effect the service you receive in the future.

I never hang up without being polite. It's the most I can do.
I think the guy should get his girlfriend to do the calling. She would probably have more success.
