Police have two men in custody after an alarming sequence of events in the city last night.

A man reported being accosted by two males armed with an axe and a knife in the 500 block of 3rd Avenue around 11:30 last night, as he was checking on property stored in the area. The potential victim managed to get away from the pair, and called police who began tracking the suspeccts with the help of the police dog service.

Just before 1 a.m., RCMP say they recieved a similar call, this time from a woman in the area of 1st Avenue and George Street, who reported being assaulted by a male with an axe. She’d been slightly hurt when struck with the blunt side of a full sized axe.

Officers patrolling in the area found the Mohawk Service Station had been broken into, and recognized the suspects on the video surveillance from descriptions in the earlier incidents.

A short while later, two men age 49 and 51 were located by police officers and a tracking dog. They will face a number of charges in court, including posession of a dangerous weapon, assault with a weapon and break and enter.

Why does our society put up with this shit? I'd like to flog them with whips on the court house steps with the camera's rolling. Dirty Low Life Scum.
I do not think that stooping to their level is going to solve anything.
