Vanderhoof RCMP believe a rash of recent vehicle thefts are related.

In one of the most recent – and brazen – incidents police say a male suspect broke into the CN Rail Compound behind the local Kal Tire outlet and stole a railway work truck. The vehicle was heavily damaged before it was abandoned in a nearby parking lot.

Police believe the same culprit was also responsible for the attempted theft of a pick-up truck from the Yellowhead Road and Bridge compound off Spruce Street in Vanderhoof.

While asking for any information the public may have in relation to the theft incidents, local mounties are also reminding area residents to keep watch over their neighbourhoods and report any suspicious activity
