Weather Keeps Fires Down

Fire activity has slowed due to the continuing cool weather and rain, says Barbara Durau, Fire Information Officer for the Prince George Fire Centre.
Fire crews responded to six new spot fires in the past week, all of them less than one hectare in size. Crews have extinguished one of these fires and are patrolling the rest.
There have been a total 469 fires and a 74,971 hectares burned so far in the Prince George Fire Centre. The fire danger rating throughout most of the Prince George Fire Centre is now Low to Moderate. There are no bans or restrictions in place.
