It is refreshing to see new homes being built throughout the city. In recent years, the only thing being nailed on to a home was a "for sale" sign as residents gave up and packed up.

Now there is an increased demand for housing, with a 12% increase in homes sales this year.

In May, this region had 708 sales, to date 892 for the first half of the year.

Real Estate agents say “this is turning into a banner year in Prince George. We have been through some lean times “.

The total real estate sales so far this year are standing at $120,000,000 dollars.

This isn't a story it is an advertisement for realtors. Come on if good ole Petrew has to pay up so should the realtors.

later mofos.
I have to admit that Spanky calls 'em as he sees 'em!!!!!!
Now, about this Real Estate. How many homes were sold with just ONE BID before a judge??? Seemed to be rumored the banks and money lending institutions took advantage of a bit of interest from potential purchasers and chose to "unload" in a hurry, and losing money was better than carrying on with the responsiblity attached to empty homes which required the normal bills, eg taxes, insurance ,(if any company would touch them on a vacant house), utilities, maintenance, and having to pay someone to perform constant checks. I do not think the City of Prince George forgot to bill for taxes, and utilities, eg; water, sewer, and garbage pick up, (although none had to be supplied). The good deals were finally a reality, but you can bet a lot of money was "lost" in the process.
Yes, the realtors made money, but I do not approve of the tactics they use at times. They pump up the seller to obtain a listing, but within two weeks they are suggesting the price be lowered!!!! They, in effect, are major players in the selling price of homes. Also, has anyone ever questioned that a house sold with carpets, drapes, appliances, hot tubs, drapes, plus plus is given an evaluation including all these items, and is assessed at the selling price on the contract, which included the mentioned items. People are paying realtors commission to sell their possessions as well, and the city will collect "property" tax on those same items yearly. Get the message??? Buy a house which includes $10,000.00 worth of the sellers personal possessions, and the seller pays commission on that $10,000.00 to the realtor, and you pay the City property tax on that same $10,000.00 every year. Kind of like a legal swindle???? Just 2 losers in this scenario--the seller and the buyer!!!! Interesting, is it not???? No??? Right, nobody really cares!!!!
