A Saskatchewan Game Warden is counting his lucky stars after being shot by a fellow  conservation officer.

The two were trying to kill an injured moose North of Norquay , Saskatchewan, about 80 kilometers north of Yorkton.

Apparently the accident happened when one officer tried to flush a wounded moose out into a clearing and the other officer fired a shot from a shot gun, it glanced off a tree and hit the other officer.

The wounded Game warden was taken to Kenora hospital for treatment. The wound was not life threatening.

The warden has not been identified, nor has the shooter.

***Indeed you're right, we misspelled Canora Saskatchewan, which for everyone's information is about 53km north of Yorkton.

When I read this article, the thing which has me wondering more than anything is why a wounded Saskatchewan Game Warden would be taken to a hospital in Kenora, which is about 700 km away from the scene, when Yorkton is only 80 km away.
