Bears Take Silver in Fastpitch

The Prince George Black Bears may not have won the Canadian Senior Mens Fast Pitch Championship, but they gave it a very good shot.

Tied at 3 all at the end of 7 innings, ( regulation time) the game went to extra innings.

The St. Thomas (Ont) Evergreen Centennials became the repeat winners at the tournament beating the Bears 4-3 in the final.

The game ended on a Dale Levey solo homer in the bottom of the 9th.

PG advanced to the championship game after outscoring the Jarvis (Ont) Merchants 8-6 in the semi final.

The silver is the first medal won by a P-G team at the fastball "A" Nationals.
