Hartland Manor is under new management.

The 21 bed complex care facility on the Hart Highway can begin accepting new residents, now that a new operating license has been issued by Northern Health.

The new owner is Hartland Residences Inc. and the principal shareholder is Geoffrey Peretz.

The facility was sold in a Ritchie Bros Auction last month for $525,000

The operating license issued yesterday is a new license, and Northern Health’s Medical Officer, Dr. Lorna Medd says all concerns have been satisfied, the facility has been inspected, and the new owners can now move forward and accept new patients if they so chose.

“This is a brand new license, so that means there will be more frequent inspections” says Dr. Medd. She adds that since this is a privately funded facility , the owners could offer a range of care, but it is her understanding the owner will continue with the complex care plan that had been developed.

It is believed the new owners have already received some inquiries about vacancy.

Hartland Manor was initially built as Lotus Care, but with no contract with Northern Health, it sat vacant for a few years before being purchased by Brian Sawatzky in 2004 when it was renamed Hartland Manor. The facility‘s operating license was suspended last spring over health and safety concerns.
