An Air Quality Advisory issued in Prince Geoprge earlier today, will remain in effect at least until tomorrow monrning at 9:00.  Dennis Fudge of the Ministry of the Environment says the  fine particulate levels are over the target limits.

The high levels appear to be predominantly due to combustion sources to the northeast of downtown.

Light winds and clear skies over the area resulted in pollutants being trapped in the airshed. Twenty-four hour levels were 56 at Downtown, 29 at College Heights and 60 at the BRC site at 4:00 p.m. this afternoon.

This Air Quality Advisory is expected to be in effect until late tomorrow morning, with an update to be provided tomorrow morning at 9:00 a.m.

They were "toasting" some one at the crematorium when I drove by this afternoon. I guess they are exempt. Better there than down beside the Fraser River. (not Ganges). I am waiting for another gazebo to rise up in the cemetary. Trend-setting, maybe?
Roaster Toaster, Hee hee.

Quite the competition of smells the toilet bowl dweller must have. The asphalt plant, the pulp mill and the smell of a fine roast in the air. If you don't like it - move out of the bottom of the bowl - lots of room north, east or west.
and no bylaws enforcing it!
Really don't need air quality advisories - just walk out a door downtown and take a deep breath, after you stop coughing and get used to the stench, you kinda know that the air is not so good!
Comon Dennis, Combustion sources northeast of town. Who the heck are you referring to? Let's call a spade a spade and deal with the problem. Chester

I'm with you Annie, we don't need these so called advisory people telling us the air sucks. Stick your head out the window.
