The Prince George Exhibition has picked up second place, and $6,000 at the Awards of Excellence awarded through the BC Association of Agricultural Fairs and Exhibitions.
In presenting the awards, Agriculture Minister Pat Bell says for most people in B.C., a fall fair or exhibition is the only way they will have direct interaction with agriculture.
The theme for this year's awards was “Showcase of Agriculture.” Each participating fair and exhibition had to create a display of healthy, safe agri-food products grown or produced in B.C. The display had to include material on the nutritional value of the products as well as their economic impact on the community.
Judges visited all the fairs while they were in full swing.
The Prince George Exhibition was in Division three: "Large fairs and exhibitions with attendance over 20,000." It placed second to Dawson Creek, and ahead of third place Bulkley Valley.

But then I'm not that interested in how big a farmers tractor is....or what is or what was grown. For that type of information I can use the net and save a bunch of money.
A fair to me is for fun...and there was not much fun at this one...or the last one for that matter. And yes I am glad I have the right not to attend....And I won't again......
