Bye-Bye Spruceland,  hello Brunswick street.

The Spruceland Community Policing office is closing up shop and operations will be amalgamated with the downtown operations at the new Brunswick Street location.  The move takes effect November 6th.

The main reason for the  change is money.  Community Policing says there were rising  operational costs inclduing  costs to upgrade the site to meet the new  Community Policing visual identity, and the costs to upgrade security measures that meet RCMP standards.

The dollars  that had been used by Spruceland, will now be redistributed to the Brunswick Street  and Hart locations.  .

Just a little further to go to report that your house has been broken in to.

Seems to be a money issue, I guess that's why the RCMP are locking dwon towns such as Trail, Castlegar and others to make money on seat belt use, speeding tickets etc. They are actually closing the towns off, every access in and out fining motorists for anything they can. It's sure nice to live in a free country where there is a roadblock everywhere you go.

During the same talk show I was listening to at the time the RCMP said they are doubling, tripling and quadrupaling their radar traps hoping after you go through the first one there will be three other within kilometers of the first to issue you a ticket.

Sounds like entrapment and a money maker to me and those funds could be donated to the policing centers such as the Spruceland one insted of going to the Christmas party fund..
On the other hand, if you buckle up and keep to the speed limit you won't get fined. Sounds simple to me, a no brainer in fact
And hope they don't shoot you.
Congratulations for deciding to close down a service that is no longer being utilized and can be better allocated elsewhere.

More tickets, more enforcement of the laws is a good thing. Let's come down hard on the offenders and we will find ourselves living in a more peaceful and safe place.

I actually think bringing back a curfew to our community for our young people is a good idea. Get out the paddy wagons and keep picking up the strays until everyone begins to behave themselves and have some respect for the lives and property of others. Chester
Chester, did you know you can purchase rolls of toilet paper that have the Cdn Charter of Rights and Freedoms printed on it ? Then you can truly say you took a sh!t on it.

By the way, if we step on everyone's rights, it applies to Chester too.

The old "police state" vs. "anarchy" argument.
Rest assured, neither is a good solution.
