When Prince George City Council took a second look at the Hockey Enforcers Event, Mayor Colin Kinsley said he had spoken to the organizers and they had agreed they would make the Battle of the Hockey enforcers event  restricted to  age of majority.

There may not have been an actual motion approved by Council to that effect, but there was certainly the impression that the promoter, (Darryl Wolski) would be asked under the terms of the agreement to have the event  accessible to only those over the age of 19.

When Council reversed its decision on the event, and cleared a path for it to go ahead, promoter Darryl Wolski commented "We are very happy with the council’s decision and we’re more than happy to comply with the mayor’s request. Our entire organization has said from the start that it was probably best not to bring the kids” .

Well, the tickets are being sold to anyone of any age, and those who  THOUGHT it was revised to be an over 19 event and sought refunds have been told there is no age restriction.  CN Center Manager Diane Rogers says there is nothing in the event agreeement to indicate there is an age restriction, and CN Centre has not been given any direction to treat this event as restricted to 19 +.

Promoter Darryl Wolski was questioned on the matter, and sent this e-mail:

"That idea of having the event 19 and over was raised by our company and your mayor. However that didn’t happen so now the event is open to all ages. Therefore the reason for no refunds because the show is open to all ages."

Opinion250 News has a call in to Mayor Kinsley and is waiting for his clarification on the matter.

The hockey enforcers issue is begining to be a bit of a dead horse, the event will go on no matter how hard people try to stop it.Lets just let Aug 27 come and go and be done with it.
ROCK keapin it real 24/7
I do not think or believe anyone is now in the process of "trying to stop it." I would say we are solely interested in how many errors took place in the booking of this event and the council's actions following-and of course the faux pas on the part of our learned Mayor!!!!!
It is actually a prime example of the brainstorming that takes place at city hall, and in council chambers. Really good for a laugh!!!They will even look more so like a room full of dummies-just my opinion!!!
