RCMP are continuing to warn drivers that a heavy snowfall and rainfall overnight has left many of the area roads in very poor driving condition. Shortly after 10.00 am. Saturday morning police investigating a crash in the Summit Lake area reported the conditions as extremely poor.
Near Dome Creek, 125 kilometers east of Prince George,  two people were taken to hospital after their van being driven by a Prince George resident rolled into the ditch. They are suffering from back and neck injuries.
At 8.45 Saturday morning a single vehicle crash occurred near Summit Lake, the female driver was able to free herself from the vehicle. She did not receive serious injuries.
A lone male occupant was also involved in a rollover on Highway 97 north, 15 kilometers north of Bear Lake. The driver lost control of his truck and it rolled into the ditch. He was not injured.
Meantime Steve Thorlakson of Ft. St. John on his way to attend the convocation ceremonies of the new President of UNBC said he witnessed a number of trucks that had left the road in the area of the Pine Pass this morning. There were four transport vehicles in the ditch he said along with a B-train on its side. In addition five pick ups and three cars in the ditch on 97 north in the area from Summit Lake to the Pine Pass. Thorlakson said the driving conditions were bad and police are warning drivers to take care if you need to travel today.

I am sure the road maintainence crew will cut their California vacations short to rush back and plow these roads. If that is where they are.
