Crews from two Prince George fire halls responded to a call  just before 6:00 this evening on Oak Street.

A vacant home in the 2300 block was the scene of a fire.  Crews could see the flames though the living room window.  The fire was quickly knocked down with a  hose line.  The interior walls were examined with the thermal imaging camera to ensure there was no hidden fire.

Fire officials are still examing the scene, but say  the quick action prevented any serious fire or water damage to the home that was under going renovations.

There is significant smoke damage to the second floor, but no overall damage estimate available yet.

Investigators say the cause of the fire is suspicious.
