Northern Health continues to operate with a surplus as the Period 6 &7 financial statements indicate a surplus of $3.5 million.  The Board's V.P. Corporate Services Barry Cheal,  says the surplus  is a result of  lower than anticipated spending  in Community programs and in Regional Services.

The budget figures also reflect the revised budget  which incorporates the salary increases provided in the new collective agreements and the corresponding increases in grants from the Province to cover those salary increases.

It is anticipated that Northern Health will end the year with a budget surplus of $1.52 million.

Hang on to it people....
apply it to the short fall you are liable to claim next year....
So typical one day surplus next day they have to get more money because of the shortfall... not just Northern Health all governments and organizations.....
I agree with Gofaster. Set some money aside when you have a surplus. There is never a better time to do it.

Then, when times are tight, you have a reserve to draw on. Chester
