Ft. St. John City manager says the city of Fort St. John has written letters to the gas refineries asking why the price of fuel is so much higher in Ft St. John compared to other centers in the province.

The Chamber of Commerce had brought the matter to that City's Council asking for some action.

City Manager John Locher says "We are trying to work directly with the refineries on the problem. We want them to tweak their prices because we have been paying too much."

Gas was selling for 99 cents a litre on Thursday in Ft. St. John while the same litre was selling for 90.9 cents in Prince George.

Last week, before Taxes, the cost of a litre of regular was 67.1 cents in Ft. St. John,  in Prince George it was 61.3 cents, while in Victoria, it was 67.2
