The Wolf scooped the fall radio ratings in the region as they remained well ahead of the pack.

The BBM ratings released yesterday show that the old CJCI (The Wolf) led the sweeps with a 29.4% share of the market up from 23.5 % all +12 listeners Monday thru Sunday 5 am to 1 am

Here are the ratings and the spring comparison for all listeners aged 12 and over:

 Station           Spring 2006                              Fall 2006
The Wolf                23.5  %              The Wolf           29.4  %
The Drive               16.9 %               CBC                15.8  %
94-X                      16.6 %               The Drive         15.3  %
The River               16.3 %               94-X                13.1  %
                                                      The River         10.4  %

The latest ratings indicate satellite radio is making a serious mark on listening in the region.

Figures show that all stations in the city lost plenty of hours tuned each week to “others” which includes satellite and CBC. CBC has a very strong morning listening audience because of its information package.

CBC’s, Day Break Host, James Evans says he is pleased. “It is our commitment to tell northern stories, to people who live in the north “.
Breaking down the numbers indicates that in this region Satellite radio may be attracting an audience as high as 10%

WITH THE EXCEPTION OF THE CBC, RADIO IN PG STINKS.IT'S GREAT IF YOU LIKE MUSIC ALL DAY LONG. A GREAT MANY OF US USED TO LISTEN TO RAIF, MEISNER AND SPORT TALK. I GUESS PATTISON AND THE OTHER RADIO MOGULS CANT AFFORD TO PAY FOR A GOOD LISTENING MIX. DON'T GET ME WRONG, I LIKE MUSIC BUT NOT 24-7. ALSO THE CANNED NEWS ON THE WEEKEND STINKS. IT'S IF THERE IS NOTHING HAPPENING ON THE WEEKEND IN PG AND SURROUNDING AREA.KEEP IT UP RADIO AND NEXT TIME YOU WILL BE EVEN FURTHER DOWN THE LIST. WE NEED A GOOD 50,000 WATT AM STATION IN THE NORTH SO PEOPLE OUTSIDE THE BOWL COULD LISTEN. REMEMBER AM RADIO, IT WAS THE ONE THAT YOU COULD LISTEN TO WHILE AT THE LAKE OR ON A HUNTING TRIP. IT WOULD BE A WINNER WITH THE LISTENERS AND THE SPONSORS.HATS OFF TO THE LOCAL CBC, WITHOUT THEM WE WOULD NEVER GET ANY LOCAL COMMENTARY AND INVESTIGATIVE NEWS REPORTING.
it is like the banks get everythig done with the machine to cut cost and take the people and the personality right out of the industry....with the exception of cbc and cfur we have 4 mainline stations in this town playing us the same music all day long.......to the point where the same song can be played at 2 stations at the same time
originality went out of mainstream radio 20 or more years ago. sattelite radio is a god send to those of us that needed a break from the same old....same old. oh look repitition again...lol........we have been forced to endure out music to be driven by young teens because they are the ones who phone a request of the song they just listened to.................please some one start a listener supported radio for those of us who live outside of top 40.......but the way radio people internet radio has nearly made you obsolete......as soon as ican go online in the car you are the redundant.....better start thinking outside the box at your next think tank if have such a thing.
...leave it to K Killratings to tank CKPG Radio....ha ha ha ...good luck gang...
in retail we vote with our feet...........it looks like in radio we continue to vote with our fingers...........markets make the decisions, not the stations.
