The weather may actually be helping us on another front.
We have very likely escaped any chance of being hit by the West Nile virus for another year, according to Medical Health Officer Dr. Lorna Medd .
Dr. Medd says we are very close to having our first frost of the year and that will mean an end to the mosquito season. No cases she added have been reported in the rest of British Columbia, or in Montana and Washington State.
Meantime, in the Prairie Provinces, there have been new reports of West Nile virus.
There also was one case reported from Nova Scotia, as it turned out however, the man in question had contracted the virus on a visit to Manitoba.
