This would allow the City to borrow up to $1,216,000 for assembling land, rights of ways, easements, licenses etc associated with the Cemetery Mausoleum. It would also allow the City to borrow up to $2,302,000 for acquiring “such real property, easements, rights of way, licenses, rights or authorities as may be requisite or desirable for or in connection with the Road Rehabilitation projects.” (that is for the 2006 road rehab projects)

Sewar Loan Authorization Bylaw :

If residents don’t want any of the bylaws to pass, they must sign the petition at City Hall. Each petition needs to be signed by 10% of the electorate, (5535) in order to be rejected.

Have to go to city hall to stop them from borrowing money? Hmmmm? How about plebiscites during elections when people vote? The lazy factor of most people in this town will assure the borrowers at city hall that they will have smooth sailing. But then again, there is an out for taxpayers concerning this. The word is "move". Then you don't have to pay PG municipal debt. But ya still have to pay the provincial debt and the federal debt. I'm gonna stop now. This is depressing.
I think the best option of all is to show up at the next municipal election and vote the lot of them out. This is the option I will be choosing.
