Cougars Secure Prospects

The Prince George Cougars dipped into the Prince George minor hockey association for their first round selection of the 2007 WHL Bantam Draft. The Cats picked 6 foot 150 pound centre Brett Connolly of the Farr Fabricating Bantam Cougars.

We are very excited to select Brett. He was an attractive player to many teams and we are looking forward to working with him in the future", states Cougars General Manager Dallas Thompson.

With the 32nd overall pick in the 2007 WHL Bantam Draft, the Prince George Cougars have selected LW Brock Hirsche. Hirsche, a 5’11", 165 lbs product of Lethbridge, AB, suited up for his hometown Bantam AAA Golden Hawks last season.

In Round 3, the Cougars selected D Tyler Kizuik 54th overall. The 6’1",170 lbs. Kizuik hails from Indian Head, SK. With the 120th overall selection in Round 6 of the 2007 WHL Bantam Draft, the Cougars have selected 5’11", 175 lbs. RW Catlin Foley of Coranach, SK. In Round 7, the Cougars used the 142nd overall pick to secure D Bruin McDonald. The 5’11", 175 lbs McDonald hails from Coquitlam, BC.

Round 11  (#218; from Portland)- Carson Grolla, D, Prince George, B.C., 5-10, 145;

(#225)- Nick Buonassisi ("Bwon-Ah-See-See"), C, Coquitlam, B.C., 5-10, 150;


Round 13:    (#242)- Chris Musselman, RW, Tisdale, SK, 5-11, 150;
Round 14:   (#244)- Alexander Sikora, C, Calgary, AB, 5-9, 145;
Round 15:    (#246)- Greg Fraser, C, Nanaimo, BC, 5-10, 150;
