Prince George RCMP say the file involving several recent abduction attempts in the city has been brought to a successful conclusion, but no charges will be laid.

Police say they located two individuals matching the description of the men involved and the light blue van -- all three were the subjects of a public advisory issued by the police back on April 30th.  Schools within Prince George had also sent home letters to parents with a description of the vehicle as well. In a news release, Constable Gary Godwin says officers have spoken with the two individuals and have ruled they did not have, "an intent to commit a criminal offence."  No further details are available at this time.

But Godwin says police are asking the public to continue to impress upon their children the risks of approaching vehicles driven by strangers and remain vigilant and observant.

RCMP are thanking concerned citizens who phoned both Crimestoppers and the Detachment with information that helped police locate the vehicle and persons in question.

Good job!

Just think how nice it would be if it always went this way. Everybody co-operating and doing their part. You could never get away with trying to abduct a kid, and everybody would know it. I think that would add a level of safety for our kids.
I would like to the details of this decision. If no criminal intent why were they approaching children?
Awesome! Its sure nice to hear a happy outcome for a change. Glad to hear the authorities were so dilegent in their search...wtg
Something just doesn't sit right with this scenario. No criminal intent? What then, was their intent?? These two grown men approached more than one young girl on their streets enroute to school. What gives with that? How dare they not have to answer more clearly to the public for those actions!! All I can say is, they better have had a darn good excuse to get off the hook without even being hit with a harrassment charge to make them mind their P's and Q's in the future.
The police can't tell you the outcome of the investigation. They may have to tell you there was no criminal intent, because they don't have enough evidence to pursue anything at this point. At least now the "mysterious strangers" have names and addresses. That's a lot more then we had before. They may also still be under investigation too.
Maybe they were prostheletizing .....
Yah, that.
