Prince George City Council has given the O.K. to the Alternate Approval Process on a bylaw to borrow nearly $6 million dollars for the Cameron Street Bridge project.

If 10% of the electorate, (5535 eligible voters) to sign the petition, the City would have to hold a referendum before being allowed to borrow the money.

The deadline to sign the form is 5 p.m. June 25th.

Here is  a copy of the  form:

Can the form be signed anywhere and brought to City Hall, or must it be signed there?
Good question Owl. I will check this out later this week or early next.

I seems that the Provincial Government in collusion with the Municipalities changed the percentage of Voters that are required to get a petition through. Seems to me that the Terasen Gas Petition only required 3000 signatures.

5535 is a high number to attain.

First round goes to City Hall.
