The price of gas rose to 124.9 cents a litre today in Prince George, an increase of 7 cents a litre in one day.

That ,combined with the May 9th increase of 4 cents means the price of gas has risen 11 cents a litre (50 cents a gallon) in less than a week.

The Canadian Center for Policy Alternatives says the latest increase means that the Oil companies in Canada will bring in an additional 32.7 million dollars more in profits a day.

The Center says the price of a liter of gas in Prince George, taking normal profits for both refineries, and marketing should be 92.3 cents a liter. We are, according to them, paying 32.7 cents a litre too much for fuel.

Interestingly enough when using cities to show the gas gouging going on in the province of BC, there are four cities used as an illustration. Vancouver, Victoria, Kamloops and Prince George

No sense trying to deal with the MP's or MLA's either...
They have a form letter that is about 2 weeks old and says a whole lot of nothing about nothing.
We can't not drive as there really is a limited bus service.
What can we do?
I am game for about LEGAL any ideas...
and , no, boycotting doesn't work in Canada as the stations are not owned by the gas companies who dictate the prices...
Try driving downhill as much as possible.

;-)
I drive a diesel (when not on my bike). 91.6 at Flying J.
I am not surprised that the MP's or MLA's havent responded. Their governments are getting more money out of their gas taxes everytime the pump price goes up.
They "may" respond if this continues to the point where it causes an inflationary trend.
All in all, bad news for anyone that has to drive or buy anything because those costs will be going up soon as well!
MLA's and MP haven't responded to this blatant case of robbery by the oil companies because THEY KNOW IT"S WRONG!
So they keep their mouths shut and their heads down. They were probably told by their leaders to say nothing and don't get drawn into a discussion.
And yes, they have been strangely quiet.
We always have to remember that our fearless leaders actually LIKE the benefits of high fuel costs.
The government reaps the benefits, and we get shafted by the very people who we elected to look after our best interests.
That is NOT what they are doing, and it just shows us how much we actually matter to these carpetbaggers!
Very little!
It's funny how government see's fit to regulate everything else in our lives but gas prices.
Aaaah, now if only we still owned PetroCan.
We still own husky and mohawk...but they are doing us as bad as the rest...
Poor Petro can, they get blamed for everything.
Husky is owned by the Chinese, and Husky owns Mowhawk.
The rich get richer and the poor get poorer
Just goes to show you....

steal a loaf of bread - go to jail

steal millions of dollars - laugh all the way to the bank
What I wouldn't give to be a kid again....no stress, no worries, no money, no thinking the world's gone crazy while riding around in our self made gokart...smiling. :)
