Collision with Moose Leaves Driver Injured
By 250 News
A 44 year old Prince George Wooman is in hospital with serious injuries after the vehicle she was driving collided with a moose at about 10:30 last night.
Fort George Traffic Services Sergeant Pat McTiernan says the woman was driving her 2005 Chevrolet Cavier northbound near Buckhorn Road when a young moose stepped on the highway from the east side. The Cavalier hit the moose, and it slammed into the windshield.
The collision caused the driver to lose control, swerve to the left and into the southbound ditch.
The woman was the lone occupant in the car at the time of the crash and was wearing her seatbelt.
The highway was closed for several hours last night from about 10:30 until 2:30 this morning as investigators worked at the scene. Police say their investigation at this point would indicate alcohol was not a factor.
Police are hoping anyone with any information on the crash will contact them at the Fraser Fort George Traffic Services Unit at 250 -649-4004 or Crime Stoppers.

No wonder our policing costs keep going up with no improvement in real crime prevention.
I wonder just how many officers and police cars were on hand at that accident scene? My guess is at least 4.
