Residents of Houston are preparing for the worst. The Bulkley River could spill it’s banks at any moment.
Residents, like Barry Goold (at left), have been sand bagging their homes, was riding his tractor cutting the lawn on Friday.
He said "I put the sand bags around the house because I was told there would be no flood compensation if I didn’t. I’m cutting the law today waiting around to see what is going to happen."
Further East the Bulkley River has spilled its banks into the adjacent fields.
In the down town section on Friday a CN train bridge was barely above the level of a stream which flows in to the Bulkley River. The weather in the community is warming up...
At left, the town workers have covered the manhole covers with sandbags to ensure the system doesn’t back up on to the streets,

At right, CN has brought in gas pumpers to try and keep water out of a residential subdivision
