Inquest Into Death of 4 Year Old Underway

It has been  nearly 8 years since  4 year old Amanda Jean Simpson died.

This morning, the Coroner’s inquest into the little girl’s death got underway in Prince George.

On the stand,  Amanda’s mother, Gerry Walton, who told the  inquest she  got a call from her common law husband that Amanda had been hurt.  She  returned from work  and saw her child had a lump on her head, but Walton testified there were no other bruises or signs of injury.  Amanda was taken to hospital  where she died three days later.

The inquest is scheduled for the balance of the week, and is  being conducted by Coroner Beth Larcombe.
