UNBC’s Board of Governors is set to gather on campus later today to give final approval to the 2007-2008 budget - a balanced budget that includes a two-percent hike in tuition fees.

Back in January, the University announced plans to cut 25 faculty and 25 non-faculty staff in a bid to deal with a $2-million dollar budget shortfall.

By the end of March, the amount of red ink had dwindled to $300-thousand dollars, mainly through attrition.

The Board Members will gather in the Dr. Donald Dix Northern Health Sciences Centre.

I wish that when they put additions on buildings that the architects would learn how to respect the design of the original building instead of highlighting their addition through the use of different cladding materials.

This could have been such a nice building.
