UNBC’s Board of Governors is set to gather on campus later today to give final approval to the 2007-2008 budget - a balanced budget that includes a two-percent hike in tuition fees.
Back in January, the University announced plans to cut 25 faculty and 25 non-faculty staff in a bid to deal with a $2-million dollar budget shortfall.
By the end of March, the amount of red ink had dwindled to $300-thousand dollars, mainly through attrition.
The Board Members will gather in the Dr. Donald Dix Northern Health Sciences Centre.
