17 Year Old Missing In West Lake

An RCMP dive team has just arrived in Prince George and will be heading to West Lake to try and recover the body of a 17 year old male.

Police say the teen, who was not a strong swimmer, was in the the lake last evening and got out over his head. A friend swam out to try and save him, but was unable to help the young man. The teen disappeared under the water.

Search and Rescue worked on the scene all night to try and find the young man but failed to locate him.

The young man's name has not been released.

I just found out who this boy was and my heart goes out to his family. I'm so sorry for your loss.

Sad story. I feel for the friend who tried to help, too. That would be hard to take, I think.

Yes, I just read about that part. He had to get away or they were both going to drown. What a tragic situation for everyone. I can't imagine what they are all going through right now.
