Fire Near Dunster Continues to Burn

20 new fires started in the Prince George Fire Centre over the long weekend, and all were caused by lightning.

The largest fire is located in the vicinity of Kiwa Creek, about  17 kilometres southeast of Dunster in the Robson Valley. The fire is approximately 120 hectares in size and has crews, helicopters and heavy equipment on site.

The remaining fires are one hectare in size or smaller. Six are in initial-attack status, three are being patrolled and 10 are out.

The fire danger rating is currently low to moderate throughout most of the Prince George Fire Centre. The forecast calls for cooler temperatures, showers and cloudy periods throughout the week, with the Robson Valley forecast to receive rain Wednesday evening through Thursday.
