Residents Want Information on Pittman's Development Promises

Prince George City Council is being asked for some answers on when Pittman Asphalt will be made to live up to some conditions set out at the time the plant was given approval to operate.
The North Nechako Residents and Land Owners Association says under Freedom of Information, they have obtained documents which indicate Pittman was supposed to build a berm, switch to Natural gas, and carry out several other upgrades.
The plan submitted to the City’s Design panel in 2002 promised a berm that would be eleven metres wide, three metres wide at the top and 4 metre high. That berm was to be covered with vegetation that would not only stabilize the slope, but provide a visual and sound barrier.
The City continues to hold thousands of dollars in securities and in July of last year, asked Pittman when it would be completing the work so the monies could be returned to them.

Most times the bond money is for something that no one can see working or is unnecessary and is just a waste of money, but is needed to satisfy a bylaw that should have been amended long ago.
Funny how it takes more work to amend a bylaw than it does to add more bylaws to the books.
