It's about time!
THe gov't let an entire season of maintenance and repairs go by. These guys and gals should have been legislated back to work months ago. Better yet, the employers should not have been allowed to lock the employees out for so long. I don't know who to blame, or if we should blame anybody.
Glad they are going back to work.
metalman.
What's to worry about, doesn't seem to be any big deal either way?
Obviously YRB should be laying off about 100 people in the spring and hiring in the fall. That should save the taxpayers a ton of money.
Didn't or shouldn't we have learned something from this? The roads didn't suddenly become impassible or have any impact from not having those workers on the payroll all summer, so why not have a look at this cost saving?
There is lots of road construction around in the summer so it's not like those workers will unemployeed all summer if YRB lays them off.
