Tomorrow, the ForesTree Fest will wrap up its third and final year of replanting the parks in Prince George which were decimated by the mountain pine beetle.

Planting of trees took place from 2005 to 2007.   To mark the end of the program a special wrap up Bar-B-Q has been set for  Saturday at the Railway and Forestry Museum.

The event is hosted by the  Mayor and Council of Prince George and  is designed to say thanks to all the volunteers, sponsors, committee members, and partners who came forward to participate in the program.

The event  starts  at 11:00 Saturday morning  and runs till 1:00 in the afternoon.

Some ForesTree Fest committee members have participated in the program for all three years, and other made an especially significant contribution.   A special effort will be made to thank all members and to recognize volunteers and sponsor contributions.

The ForesTree Fest committee includes membership from the Railway and Forestry Museum, the City, community businesses, citizens and Provincial and Federal governments.

What about a "pine beetle fest"? We could fabricate a cartoon like pine beetle and stick it on top of Mr. PG at the bypass!
