Skakun Wants Martin to Come to P.G.

Councilor Brian Skakun is asking his Council colleagues to endorse his call for the Mayor’s office to invite the Prime Minister to come to Prince George.
Skakun says resolutions before the UBCM, the NCMA and the FCM are a good start, but a more direct approach is needed. He wants Paul Martin to come to town, and, like Opposition Leader Stephen Harper, get a first hand look at the devastation created by the beetle.
Skakun believes if the P.M. could get the full picture, the beetle epidemic just might be declared a natural disaster, and that would open the cash drawer for some federal funding.
