It is by law 7771, but despite the number of "7's" this is not a lucky bylaw for some pet owners.

It is the new animal control bylaw, and it is up for final reading at City Hall tonight.

Councilor's Sethen and Rogers are the only ones to have voted against the bylaw which lays down some strict control rules for owners of dangerous dogs, and certain breeds, in particular, Pit bulls.

The bylaw is considered, by some, to be descriminatory and in the wake of the legal action  underway in Ontario, there are questions about it being able to stand up to a court challenge.

In Ontario,  Pit bulls, and similar breeds are banned.  The new bylaw here calls for  higher licensing fees, and strict control measures for dogs deemed dangerous  because of their actions, or considered dangerous becaue of their breed.

It would be interesting to know which councilors are dog owners and if so or not which way they voted and why?
Come on-show them not only dogs have teeth!!!!
Discriminate if you wish.
After all, who is running this show???
If they don't like it-move!!!!
Right???
Gypsy clearly its an election issue. This requires the facts on the table IMO.

I will not vote for someone who supports collective punishment. that crosses my line whether it is called on for Arabs, Jews, or pitbulls.
Oh O.K. Chad!!!
Whatever you say!!
No contest!!!
