Tamara Chipman Case Making Positive Steps
By 250 News
It has now been two years since Tamara Chipman disappeared. She was last seen on September 21st, 2005, hitchhicking on Highway 16, east of Prince Rupert.
Most recently, a trained ground search and rescue team assisted investigators in searching a wooded area east of Prince Rupert. That search, conducted last weekend, didn’t uncover any meaningful evidence.
The investigation into her disappearance remains ongoing, and is being handled by the Terrace Detachment of the RCMP with assistance of Prince Rupert and the Terrace Regional GIS section.
Investigators say that over the past year they have made some progress in eliminating a number of tips and have been able to concentrate on some more compelling leads.
The information being gathered from this investigation is being shared with the Highway 16 investigative review team which has been examining files of women who have gone missing, or who have been murdered along Highway 16.
Investigators say their work on the Chipman case continues to take "positive steps" but Terrace and Prince Rupert RCMP would still welcome hearing from anyone who may have information related to this case.
