We're In and Challenge Kelowna

The City of Prince George is going to  be one of 177 communities to take part in Zero Crash Month and the City will challenge Kelowna to see who  has  better drivers.

ICBC is predicting that normally, Prince George will have 489 crashes in October, and 88 people will be hurt.  The object is to be the community that can  have the largest reduction in crashes for the month.  At stake, a $35 thousand dollar grant.

Mayor Kinsley says that money could go towards inproving site lines at bad intersections,  safety programs, or any of a number  of projects that could  reduce accidents over the long run.

Individuals are also invitred to take part,  and they could win $35 thousand  dollars to go towards the purchase of a new vehicle.

Winners will be announced November 17th.
