Buy a new toaster lately?  Maybe picked one up for someone for Christmas, or a wedding, or a shower gift?

The company that makes  some toasters for Black and Decker, is recalling one of the models.  Applica Canada is recalling the Black and Decker Infrawave Toaster , like the one shown in the photo at right.

According to Applica there is a component that can overheat and  cause a fire.  There have  been four incidents reported which  involved the toaster overheating and in two of those cases, there was a fire which caused damage to the kichen.

The model number of the toaster  is ST2000.

Four thousand  of these toasters are known to have been sold in Canada  at  a variety of stores, including:Canadian Tire, London Drugs, and home improvement stores.

The model sold for between $69 and $79 dollars.
