Sandbags are piled in the Delhaven Condo Complex, waiting to be deployed
Prince George, B.C. - The Nechako River water levels have dropped a foot over night in most places along the river.
Two hundred meters of gabion diking are being installed at Delhaven, the condo complex on the north side of the Nechako River.
Work continues today on the building of an earth berm along the Pacific Western Brewery and Cedars Christian School properties.
The reconstruction of a part of River road, to raise it by more than a meter, is now complete.
The good news is, the forecast calls for milder temperatures, which should help reduce the risk of more flooding or damage.
The evacuations remain in effect for P.G. Pulp Mill Road, and River Road, all other areas remain on evacuation alert.
Crews will continue pumping water from sites along River Road, and removal of snow, ice, and debris will continue from those sites as well.
The City will have another other 5,000 sandbags available tomorrow and more gabion dikes are being made available.
