Only nine? What a world, eh? Maybe he will get lucky and kill someone and then we can wonder how to stop people like this.
With Operation Red Nose in operation, a donation gets you and your car home, this fellow should never be allowed to drive again.
He has absolutely no excuse, other thatn the rules apply to everyone but him, as he is "SPECIAL"
9 convictions,hmmmm....tell me our justice system ain't broke!!!
How about forfeiture of vehicle upon conviction ? It was used in the commission of a crime.
I agree thereasonableman!
Take it and don't give it back!
That just might make few stop and think, and it would also save some room in jail!
(Not that they put anyone in jail very often anyway)!
Losing a 50 or 60 thousand dollar pickup would hurt a bit!
The sad thing is he's only one of how many that got caught. Anytime a rec. hockey game is scheduled don't go driving on the roads as those guys sit out in parking lot after the game and "have one or two". Summer after a soccer game...same thing. Baseball games same thing. People don't care. I guess the circumstances are no big deal.
If we seized and sold the vehicle in question after "X" number of convictions, as part of the sentencing plan, it would go a long way to slowing down if not stopping this behavior.

We seized the Hells Angels properties, and that was an effective action. Let's continue going in the same direction.

This guy should see 3 - 6 mos in jail for his efforts, so watch the court docket and see what happens.
A beer after a hockey game, a ball game or any event for that matter is part of our society. Go to any social event and most people will have a drink of something in their hand. They are not drunks, they are not the problem, it's the ones who have 4 drinks or more who the focus should be on. I suggest 80% of the problem could be reduced if RCMP parked outside each and every pub in town and nail them at the source of the problem. Trying to get lucky and pull over the masses, makes them appear busy, but are they really effective catching the real problem drinkers and drivers? I'm not so sure. Chester
You'd be surprised Chester. I deal with it way too much. I used to wish the ones I knew that do this too often would get pulled over and hopefully get a wake up call. I'm torn now about that wish. Most guys are pretty smart about knowing when to go home but lots aren't.
But then again maybe my husband is the only idiot??? lol..
Kudos to the concerned Citizen who phone police in the first place.

This person might have given the gift of live to one or two people, including the bloody drunken idiot.

Cats have nine lives, maybe the tenth for this GOOF would have been his last!!
The club house at the soccer fields acts just like a pub during soccer season. I had to go pick my husband up a few times, the parking lot full of vehicles and when I walked up those stairs to find him I felt like the only sober one there.
I just want to add this note. I belong to a men's hockey team and we play in the rec league a couple of times per week. We do meet in the parking lot after most games to have a beer or pop. "Most" of our players have a "Pop", as more often than not it's after midnight when we get off the ice. I haven't seen anyone have two beer since the beginning of this season. And everyone goes home after a game, not to the pub. Maybe it's got something to do with just being a little more responsible, as we all have jobs to go to in the morning. So, just because the fellows are standing around in the parking lot after a game, doesn't mean they are all boozing it up. Chester
You have a good group then Chester. Do you mind one night slapping my husband upside the head for me ;) He would be the one that doesn't know how to say "No."
"Slapping him upside the head"? I think we must know each other. That's one of my sayings. Chester
lol...never know
