Crews worked on building a berm near Cedars Christian School and PWBrewery earlier this week.

The Nechako River ice jam grew again overnight but river levels remained as they were Monday as pumping of trouble spots continues.
The jam reached past the Pozer Road area and extends almost to the point of its greatest length – it reached six kilometres long on December 15 before compressing suddenly to two kilometres. Despite the growth, water levels associated with the jam did not rise overnight.
City workers and contractors continue to monitor river levels and jam conditions around the clock. Pumping continues in the River Road and Pulp Mill Road areas around the clock as well.
Area A – River Road
  • Pumping and debris hauling continues. Pooling water continues to cause problems in spots but crews are responding to situational changes.
Area B – Ongman Road/McAloney Crescent
·         Pumps remain operating intermittently. This will continue until the river recedes.
Aear C – Pulp Mill Road
·         Round the clock pumping continues to help lower water levels around homes that were flooded.
Area D – Delhaven/Pozer Road
·         Gabion diking and earthen berm work is complete.
