Prince George, B.C. - The Salvation Army's  Kettle campaign has been  officially tallied.  Donations totaled $196 thousand dollars!

That is  $21 thousand more than the $175 thousand dollar goal set for this year.

On Christmas Eve, the Salvation Army had thought they would be short of their goal by a few thousand dollars, but the final tally shows this  year's campaign was a major success.

The Salvation Army offers thanks to all who made donations of cash or time to the kettle campaign.

Looks like they have a $21,000.00 head start for next year, or will they spend it all this year and ask for more next year?
And it's not all in yet. I spoke to Capt. Bruce Kirk from the Salvation Army today and he said that they received donations totallying over $24,000 from the Salvation Army Tree of Lights on the roof of the Coast Inn of the North, and they were still counting. A very successful campaign I would say. Chester
