Prince George, B.C. - The Prince George RCMP say the Drinking -Driving Counter Attack was successful this year,  With more than 5 thousand vehicles  stopped and checked in the Prince George area.

Police  say 30  impaired drivers were taken off the roads.

The stop checks also resulted in  30 vehicles being impounded, 28  had to be towed away.  Sixty three  people were  given a 24 hour suspension of their licence, most for alcohol,  10 for use of drugs.

All in all, police say  it was a  successful campaign, they had more officers out this  year than they  have had in the past, and that enabled them to  stop more vehicles.

Im curious as to how many of them were repeat offenders.
I spent Christmas and New Years on the lower mainland and the island, and I have never seen so many idiots on the road.
Also, the Fraser Canyon is an absolute mess and it was bad last summer!
Obviously nothing was done and now it is really bad!
Guess the Sea to Sky upgrade took all the money...
From Hope to PG,we saw zero cops other than in town and I mean none, nada!
Never been passed so many times on a double solid line!
So where are the cops who patrol out on the highways?
IS there any?
