Prince George, B.C. - The Director of Operations for the Provincial Emergency Program, Jim Whyte, says he has been in contact with Eco Technologies, the company that specializes in breaking up ice jams, located in New Brunswick. "I talked to him last night " Whyte says "I sent him along some pictures of what we are facing here on the Nechako with the ice jam and the flooding."
Paul Laplante says he talked with the Director and looked at the pictures late Friday night. "From what I can see , I believe that our company could do the job, that’s what we do for a living”. Laplante says he has not heard from anyone else other than the Provincial representative.

"I would like to come and see the problem that you have, from the pictures I’m sure we can do the job, but I still would like to see first hand with my best operator."
Time is of importance Laplante says, "It will take us 4 days to come across Canada to do the job, so we can’t start tomorrow."
On Friday, Opinion250 provided the links and information on the equipment along with the name of the company and a profile to the City EOC committee. The City is in charge of the flood control measures and does not answer to either the federal or provincial government in the matter of this flood. PEP is there to assist them but cannot take charge of the process.
