Prince George, B.C. – The fire at the Prince George Pulp Mill will have no impact on employees.  The production levels may be changed, but the work will continue.

Engineers have been working at the Canfor site to figure out how to get the chips into the digester now that the conveyor belt is  out of commission, burned in last night’s blaze.

While the search continues for the cause of the blaze, the damage estimate is still being tallied.  It is expected the total will be in the millions of dollars.

Getting the chips to the digester should not be that big of a problem... use a solids handling pump or a gullet and screw... lots of scrap around there to build one of those with.

Blessings...
It looks like a bomb went off there when one looks at the kind of damage it did. Amazing how far it spread. The damage is extensive, but from what I'm hearing its business as usual and they figure maybe two weeks downtime for the digester. Although their quality might go to crap without the screening taking place for who knows how long.
I wonder if that was that "Boom" I heard that day that shook my house. What time do they figure the fire started?
