Prince George, B.C. - We're in a coldsnap and it has nothing to do with the winter musical festival underway...
The current temperature at the Prince George Airport is minus-31 and Environment Canada is continuing a windchill warning issued yesterday due to gusting wind.
The five-day forecast is calling for sunshine today, but it will be tempered with a high of just minus-26, and the temperature will drop down to minus-30 overnight.
On Tuesday, the day will be mainly cloudy and cold with a high of minus-24 and low of minus-30. The forecast is much the same for Wednesday, a little bit warmer during the day with minus-22 and sunshine, but back down to minus-31 overnight.
It will warm slightly on Thursday, with the high expected to reach minus-13 and an overnight low of -23. Some snow expected during the day.
Friday, a high of minus-8 and low to minus-15.
The forecast is much the same for across the region, with communities in the northwest, like Smithers, set to see a bit warmer temperatures. Currently, it's minus-31 in Vanderhoof, minus-25 in Smithers, Quesnel sits at minus-28 and it's minus-29 in Williams Lake.
