 Prince George -   A 19 year old Prince George man has been arrested after thieves drove a truck into the front of the Liquor Depot at 1321 E Noranda Rd. early Friday morning.

The vehicle was backed through the front of the store causing thousands of dollars in damage.

The thieves then stole liquor and cigarettes valued at about $350 dollars before fleeing the scene.

Patrolling police officers attempted to check the vehicle, it however refused to stop, and police followed the vehicle until it left the road becoming stuck in the 3400 block Hart Highway. The driver fled on foot, however a  police dog was  able to pick up the trail and the youth was arrested.

A second male was believed to have been involved. Police are investigating

No, its write.

E before I, except after Y and when followed by Q, as in 'keep queit'!
how about i before e, except after c.
Or when they say "ay" as in 'neighbour' and 'weigh'.
Meanwhile, the puke oops I mean ALLEGED perpetrator, will get a rap on his wrist,& promise to be good. The store owner will presumably claim the damages on his insurance policy, which will vault him into a higher bracket, in short, the cost of insurance will go up for the owner. Thats if he is lucky. If he is not lucky, they may decide not to renew next time "too much risk" etc. Point being, these miscreants basically get away with their crimes, while the honest hardworking folks have to alter their lives to work around the results of a spineless justice system. I'm sure he will be punished for this crime, but to what extent? Probably not severely enough to discourage him from crime in the future. Strictly an opinion.

They both were probably out on their own recognizance for another crime. I betcha they know the judge on a first name basis.
Soon we will need those concrete and steel tank resistant obstacles in front of every store window!

That will really beautify our overall appearance, together with the steel bars on the windows!

Welcome to the fortified war zone like commercial neighbourhoods!
Fortified war zone like commercial neighbourhoods where you have to pay for everything in advance because you are a potential thief.
Interesting how we are encouraged to shore up our property's with concrete and steel to keep the criminals out, rather than using concrete and steel to keep the criminals in. Chester
To paraphrase some fine lyrics;
"It's a strange strange world we live in"
There are not enough consequences for crimes against society. It is that simple.
We would have fewer crimes of this sort if the pukes knew that they would be facing harsh penalties for their actions. It is nice having a justice system that places the burden of truth upon the system, but too many creeps get away with what they did, and too many honest people (one is too many) have to fight twice as hard to prove their innocence.
