Prince George, B.C.-  It doesn't sing, but  could be crowing if it wins the award for which it has been nominated.

Prince George's CN Centre has been nominated in the category of “Major Facility of the Year” (under 8,000 seats), in the Canadian Music Industry Awards,  the most prestigious  music awards in the country.

CN Centre’s Event and Marketing Coordinator, Glen Mikkelsen  is  thrilled "This nomination is a great honour by our peers in the music industry.  The award recognizes CN Centre’s staff commitment to deliver superior customer service to promoters, musicians, and production crews.”  CN Centre also extends a big thank you to the many businesses that work to make its events successful and to the fans who continually show their support.

Other facility nominees include the Crystal Centre, Grande Prairie, AB; the Ricoh Coliseum, Toronto, ON; the Brandt Centre, Regina, SK; the Enmax Centre, Lethbridge, AB; and the Steelback Centre, Sault Ste. Marie, ON.

The Canadian Music Industry Awards gala takes place Thursday, March 6th in Toronto, Ontario.  The awards ceremony is the highlight event of Canadian Music Week.

Good work!
Hey that's a nice thing to be recognized for! Even if we don't win, the word of mouth likely helps market CN Centre and City in regards to attracting events.
Good work for CN Centre. The more venues they get the less money we lose.
Will the city pay my travel costs to attend?

I already have a spot in downtown Toronto booked.
"Good work for CN Centre. The more venues they get the less money we lose."

I am not sure why you would say that. If the guarantee gate to the touring producer and the cost of local staff is higher than the gate, the individual event looses money. Each event is a risk, unless the Centre run like a road house as rentals only.
